This session is designed for experienced Mahjong players who want to discover the fast-paced, strategic world of Taiwanese Mahjong. We'll take you through the distinctive 16-tile format, unique rules, scoring, winning patterns and the subtle strategic shifts that make this variant a favourite among players.
The class is interactive, engaging and packed with practical gameplay examples, giving you plenty of opportunities to ask questions and compare what you know with the Taiwanese style.
By the end of the session, you'll have everything you need to pull up a chair, shuffle the tiles and confidently play Taiwanese Mahjong!

A four-day immersive course designed for Beginners looking to learn Mahjong from the ground up, with depth and structure.
Over the course of four thoughtfully paced sessions, you’ll be introduced to Classic Mahjong— not just a single format, but a complete understanding of the game across its most popular variations. Each session builds on the last, giving you both confidence and clarity at the table.
Led by our expert instructors, Shalini and Gehna Manglani, the sessions are relaxed, interactive, and focused. By the end of the four days, you won’t just know the game, you’ll be ready to sit down at any table and play with ease!

Beginners Mahjong Workshop
A complete introduction to Mahjong for first-time players. Across three sessions, we addressed rules, covered basic strategy and got familiar with tiles. The course concluded with full independent play, preparing participants to join regular games within their communities!

Over focused morning sessions, we covered the fundamentals including tile recognition, card interpretation, the Charleston, gameplay sequence and scoring structure, quickly moving into real gameplay.
